1. Is the Super Bark Free
weather proof?
The Super Bark-Free is what they call weather
resistance not weather proof. It is best to place it so it will be
protected from direct rain. If you place a plastic cover over the
area where the controls are it will be weather proof.
2. How does the Super Bark
Free work?
This device has two settings, ultrasonic and audible.
When set to ultrasonic it will NOT be heard by humans. Humans can
hear the audible setting loud and clear. It can be compared to a smoke
detector with a laud pitch. Both settings are effective at deterring dogs
from barking. When a dog barks within 50 to 60 feet of this device
it will respond by blasting the offending dog with a strong ultrasonic
blast of 130 dB. This blast can be effective for over 100 ft if
placed in a line of sight to the dog and there is little or no foliage to
buffer the sound waves. Solid fence would filter the sound before reaching
the dog, so its effectiveness will be reduced..
The Super Bark-Free is approximately 10" X
5" X 5". The LED lights are on the face of the Super
Bark-Free, so you might need to put a couple small pieces of tape over
them if you are trying to hide it. Ideally
you want the Super Bark-Free in a direct line of sight with the dogs.
However we realize this isn't always possible. To
be honest it's difficult to say when these ultrasonic noises will work or
won't work because it really just depends on the dogs. There are
some dogs that will respond as far away as 100 feet while other dogs must
be much closer to the device. Unfortunately
there are some dogs that just do not respond to this type of training.

3. Can I active the Super Bark Free
remotely?
From time to time I have customers wanting to do
the same thing you are wanting to do. We have used a wireless
battery powered door bell to activate the device. The doorbell
device cost about $29.00 US. The distance that the door bell will
operate is about 100 ft. So the way it would work is you push the
button on the doorbell you have in your had and the bell you mounted on
the super bark Free unit would cause the device to be set off. I
have talked with the company trying to get them to add this remote feature
to the device, but they have not yet done so.
4. Can people hear the Super Bark
Free?
The Super Bark-Free on the ultrasonic setting puts
out of a noise that is 23-26 kHz. Every once in awhile we do have a
customer who can hear that noise.
5. How much is the shipping to
Canada?
The Super Bark-Free shipping and handling to
Canada is $12 to $14 US via USPS air mail. Shipping and handling for all international orders is
nonrefundable. We are not responsible for any Customs delays
or charges.
6. How long does it take for the
Super Bark Free to work?
Most of the time the dogs respond to the Super
Bark-Free pretty quickly. I would say a good part of the time the
results are immediate. Some dogs take a little bit longer to train.
It's not uncommon that it takes a few days for the dogs to catch on. Generally
if it isn't helping after a week or so there are a few adjustments that
can be tried. If it still wasn't working after those adjustments are
made it might be that the device just is not going to work on that dog in
that situation. Unfortunately there are some dogs that just do not
respond to this type of training.
7. Which is best sonic or
ultrasonic for training the barking dog to stop?
It really depends on the dog. With some
dogs the ultrasonic noise works better while with others the audible noise
is better. Unfortunately there are also some dogs that just do not
respond to this type of training. That is why we have a nice free
trial/return policy. The
general trend is that the audible noise is better against big dogs while
the ultrasonic noise is better against smaller dogs. That said,
we've had many customers use the ultrasonic noise successfully against
large dogs
8. Will the Super Bark Free work
through a solid fence?
Any wall or solid fence will reduce the effectiveness
of this device. Line of sight is the best situation for maximum
range and effectiveness.
9. Will the Super Bark Free work
at 100 ft.?
The Super Bark-Free "can" be effective
at 100 feet if it is being used in a direct line of sight and on audible
setting. However it is not consistently effective at that kind of
range. Also, with most dogs you have to use the audible noise at
that range because it actually carries better.
Much of the time the Super Bark Free will not be activated by the
bark at this distance. The
range of this device is usually 50-60 feet although again, part of that is
just dependent on the individual dog.
10. Will Super Bark Free work on
all type dogs?
These anti-dog barking devices generally work
well on most dogs. However there are some dogs that just do not respond to
this type of training. To give you an idea of the effectiveness we
get back about 15% to 20% of them depending on the time of year. We
really haven't found that it works better on one breed or another.
It seems to really just depend on the individual dog or dogs as well as
the situation. Obviously you will want to put the device as close as
possible to the offending dog. The range of these devices is usually
50-60 feet although again, part of that is just dependent on the
individual dog.
